Asociación de productores de cafés especiales Vereda el Caimán (ASPROCESCA), established in 2019 with 44 producer-members, has been instrumental in creating market access for coffee producers by focusing on certifications and training in organic practices. The cooperative has invested in essential infrastructure, such as road improvements and local warehouses, and has developed micro-credit systems for producers. It also channels collective resources from coffee sales into impactful social programs, including environmental training, healthcare initiatives, life insurance, and educational opportunities, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for producers and their families.

Coffee producers within ASPROCESCA meticulously harvest and sort cherries before processing them through depulping, fermenting, washing, and drying using their own micro-mills. The cooperative ensures traceability and quality control in the post-harvest process through a partnership with an export company, Lohas Bean. This collaboration helps provide producers with better income, enabling them to reinvest in their farms and strengthen their families’ livelihoods.
